For We Wrestle Not Against Flesh and Blood! (Part III: The Purpose)

Immediately when I write “The Purpose” I think about all the various possibilities that it might include. It will be the most difficult to “quantify”. The most obvious purpose is; Why this series of articles”

The answer is very simple and straightforward: to arm believers in the 21st century of science and technology that both science and technology may serve the purpose of the supernatural world, and by doing so, will deceive millions if not billions of people of all walks of faith when they witness events that have seemingly no relationship to the scriptures or religion, i.e. extraterrestrial aliens, advanced civilizations or reverse engineered advanced technologies. If you are forewarned you are forearmed. Let me give you an example: Luke 10:19(KJV) Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. From this passage people have started whole new doctrines about handling snakes and other such things. The problem is those people are thinking from not only a Greek viewpoint but a totally westernized mindset.

Snakes and Scorpions: What is the big deal?

Where is the first time in scripture we see a serpent? Genesis 3:1. Let’s look: Gen 3:1 (ISR) And the serpent was more crafty than any beast of the field which יהוה Elohim had made, and he said to the woman, “Is it true that Elohim has said, ‘Do not eat of every tree of the garden’?”  The word translated as serpent is the Hebrew word nachash (H5175 Strong’s number). But is it really talking about a physical snake? Let’s look to scripture:(ISR) Rev. 12:9 And the great dragon was thrown out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who leads all the world astray. He was thrown to the earth, and his messengers were thrown out with him.
Rev. 12:14 And the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, to fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent.
Rev. 12:15 And out of his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river after the woman, to cause her to be swept away by the river.
Rev. 20:2 And he seized the dragon, the serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years,

So with this evidence is there another meaning for the Hebrew word nachash? Yes, there is and it comes from the association of polished (or burnished) brass. It can also mean shining or shining one. Do we see this in scripture? Yes, (KJV) 2 Cor 11:14  And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. So, which is more likely? Eve was strolling in the garden and was talking to a snake that could walk and talk or that she was talking to an angel of light? Remember, YHVH built Eden so He could fellowship with man on Earth. (Genesis 3:8) So Adam and Eve walked with YHVH daily in the garden and were familiar with His appearance so how better to deceive the man and woman than to appear as an angel of light whose appearance would be similar to YHVH’s. If you have not read Part I of this series it would be a good thing to stop here and go back and read Part I and look to the differences between devils and demons.

(Big Bart Jackson: “What is a vinagaroon?” Judge Roy Bean: “A whipped tailed scorpion mean as hell” [From the Life and Times of Judge Roy Bean with Paul Newman.]) So what is a scorpion if a serpent is a devil? Let’s look once again to the Book of Revelation. ((Before we do, are you getting the idea how things are finally being revealed in Revelation***?)) (ISR) Rev 9:1 And the fifth messenger sounded, and I saw a star from the heaven which had fallen to the earth. And the key to the pit of the deep was given to it.
Rev 9:2 And he opened the pit of the deep, and smoke went up out of the pit like the smoke of a great furnace. And the sun was darkened, also the air, because of the smoke of the pit.
Rev 9:3 And out of the smoke locusts came upon the earth, and authority was given to them as the scorpions of the earth possess authority.
Rev 9:4 And it was said to them that they shall not harm the grass of the earth, or any green matter, or any tree, but only those men who do not have the seal of Elohim upon their foreheads.
Rev 9:5 And it was given to them that they should not kill them, but to torture them for five months. And their torture was like the torture of a scorpion when it stings a man.
Rev 9:6 And in those days men shall seek death and shall not find it. And they shall long to die, but death shall flee from them.
Rev 9:7 And the locusts looked like horses prepared for battle, and on their heads were crowns like gold, and their faces were like the faces of men.
Rev 9:8 And they had hair like women’s hair, and their teeth were like lions’ teeth.
Rev 9:9 And they had breastplates like breastplates of iron, and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots of many horses running into battle.
Rev 9:10 And they have tails like scorpions, and stings. And in their tails is their authority to harm men five months.
Rev 9:11 And they have over them a sovereign, the messenger of the pit of the deep, whose name in Heḇrew is Abaddon, but in Greek he has the name Apollyon.

Once again, if you have not read Part I and II it is time you do. In Revelation 9:1 we see a star, angel,  fall to Earth and he is given the key to the Abyss. Which abyss? You’ll find the answer in Part I. But Rev. 9:3 is very important because it mentions authority. Scorpions don’t have authority but demons do, as do the fallen angels, devils. Do you see what Yeshua was telling His disciples? He was giving them the authority over devils and demons NOT snakes and 8-legged scorpions. But look at Rev. 9:4 And it was said to them that they shall not harm the grass of the earth, or any green matter, or any tree, but only those men who do not have the seal of Elohim upon their foreheads. Wouldn’t you like to know what that seal is and possess it? We will get to it in another article. YHVH has a seal and so Hasatan must copy what YHVH does in order to deceive.

The very sound of the word apocalypse sounds ominous but it shouldn’t. This is how Satan works. What does apocalypse mean? It means to uncover, to disclose wisdom or knowledge or to reveal. People are afraid of the mention of Revelation in many churches thinking that it is nothing but doom and gloom but it is not. Revelation is just that, a revealing. We should use Revelation to unfold or make that crossover from ancient Hebrew to more modern Hebrew. And, before you write to tell me that it was written in Greek originally let me stop you and say NO! It was translated to Greek and we have enough evidence of that because of the word-play in Hebrew that is lost in the Greek. We even see a common misspelling in Revelation that caused a verse of scripture to be mistranslated but more about all that later.

When I was in Bible college I got the bright idea that Revelation was the book alluded to in Daniel 12:4 and also 12:9. Let’s look at these two verses: (ISR) Dan 12:4 “But you, Dani’ĕl, hide the words, and seal the book until the time of the end. Many shall diligently search and knowledge shall increase.” Dan 12:9 And he said, “Go, Dani’ĕl, for the words are hidden and sealed till the time of the end.” But just a few years ago it appeared to me that this was not the case. Instead, the same part of Daniel that is sealed up until the end is the same as Revelation. Rev 10:3 and cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roars. And when he cried out, seven thunders spoke their sounds.
Rev 10:4 And when the seven thunders spoke their sounds, I was about to write, but I heard a voice from the heaven saying to me, “Seal up what the seven thunders spoke, and do not write them.” I now believe that this is an allusion to the same prophecy as Daniel 12:4,9.

Is there another purpose?

Yes, there is and it had not occurred to me until I reread 1 Enoch last year. In an effort to keep this article as brief as possible I will refer you to 1 Enoch Chapter 62. You really should read all of Chapter 62, it is only 16 verses long and in three of those verses it references the coming of the Son of Man. Yeshua (Jesus) refers to Himself or is referred to as the Son of Man 383 times in just the gospels and the book of Acts. ((Also, please note that the Hebrew word for man is ‘adam’. That is why some versions read as Son of Man and others Son of Adam.)) But now let me give you Chapter 62 verse 7: [For from the beginning the Son of Adam was hidden, and the Most High preserved Him in the presence of His might, and revealed Him to the elect.] This is monumental. This means even the angels did not know Yeshua’s true purpose. This is when two other verses came to mind, one in 1 Enoch and the other in 1 Corinthians. Let’s look at both: 1 Enoch 16:3 (This is YHVH speaking) “You have been in the heavens, but all the mysteries had not yet been revealed to you, and you knew worthless matters, and these in the hardness of your hearts you have made known to the women, and through these mysteries, women and men work much evil.”

YHVH told the Watchers, fallen angels, that at the time that they left heaven He had not revealed all the mysteries to them so what they knew was worthless. Now, let’s look at 1 Cor. 2:7-8 (ISR) 1 Cor 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of Elohim, which was hidden in a secret, and which Elohim ordained before the ages for our esteem,
1 Cor 2:8 which no one of the rulers of this age knew, for if they had known, they would not have impaled the Master of esteem. Here Paul is clearly telling the Corinthians that the rulers of this age, the Devil and his fallen angels, had NO knowledge of the true purpose of Yeshua’s ministry. Hasatan and his angels thought that they could thwart YHVH’s plan for reestablishing His Kingdom on Earth by killing His Son. They did not know or understand that He had to die to make an atonement for sin and to take the authority to rule the Earth away from Satan.

The Authority to Rule the Earth:

Where and when did the authority to rule the Earth come from? Genesis 1:28 (ISR) And Elohim blessed them, and Elohim said to them, “Bear fruit and increase, and fill the earth and subdue it, and rule over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the heavens, and over all creatures moving on the earth.” Man was supposed to subdue the Earth and to rule over it. Let look at the Merriam Webster dictionary and look at the first definition of rule [1a. Governing power or its possession or use; authority.] YHVH gave man the authority to rule over the Earth. By causing Adam and Eve to sin Hasatan took that authority away from man and so Yeshua, as the second Adam, had to retake the authority from Hasatan. Yes, I know you want proof. Let’s go back to the Septuagint and look at Deuteronomy 32: Deut 32:8 When the Most High divided the nations, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the nations according to the number of the angels of God.
Deu 32:9 And his people Jacob became the portion of the Lord, Israel was the line of his inheritance.
YHVH kept dominion over Israel and nothing else. He let the angels rule over the rest of the world. Okay, you don’t believe me, I see that look of doubt on your face. Let’s look at another scripture that I think will help you see what I mean. 2 Kings chapter 5: 2 Ki 5:17 Then Naʽaman said, “If not, please let your servant be given two mule-loads of earth, for no longer is your servant going to make a burnt offering and slaughtering to other mighty ones, but to יהוה. Na’aman was a brilliant and talented general but he was also a leper. So he goes into enemy territory, Israel, to find Elisha to be healed. After he was healed he believed in YHVH, the mighty God of Israel so he wanted dirt from Israel because there was no “true” god except YHVH: 2 Ki 5:15 [And he returned to the man of Elohim, he and all his company, and came and stood before him and said, “See, now I know that there is no Elohim in all the earth, except in Yisra’ĕl.] Even a pagan general realized that YHVH was the only true God and He was in Israel and nowhere else.

So what does this have to do with the authority to rule the Earth? Everything. Let’s take a look in 2 gospels for the answer:Mat 4:8 Again, the devil took Him up on a very high mountain, and showed Him all the reigns of the world, and their esteem,
Mat 4:9 and said to Him, “All these I shall give You if You fall down and worship me.” and now look to Luke: Luk 4:6 And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I shall give You, and their esteem, for it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. The Devil was making a statement of fact that Yeshua understood, that he, Satan had the authority to rule the Earth and it was his to give away. Can we find more? Yes! John 12:31  “Now is the judgment of this world, now the ruler of this world shall be cast out.  Joh 14:30 “I shall no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he possesses none at all in Me,” and look at John 16:11 “concerning judgment because the ruler of this world is judged.”  And, now one of the most misunderstood verses of scripture in the B’rit Hadasha (New Testament) Mat 28:18 And יהושע came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Mat 28:19 “Therefore, go and make taught ones of all the nations, immersing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Set-apart Spirit,
Mat 28:20 teaching them to guard all that I have commanded you. And see, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” Amĕn.

Did you see it? Yeshua now declares to His disciples that ALL authority over heaven and on earth have been given to Him. He took it away from Satan, who knew that was YHVH’s plan but he did not know how it would accomplish. That is why Paul said what he did in 1 Corinthians 2:7-8 and that is why Peter said what he did in his epistle: 1 Peter 3:18 Because even Messiah once suffered for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to Elohim, having been put to death indeed in flesh but made alive in the Spirit,
1 Pet. 3:19 in which also He went and proclaimed unto the spirits in prison,
1 Pet. 3:20 who were disobedient at one time when the patience of Elohim waited in the days of Noaḥ, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight beings, were saved through water,
1 Pet. 3:21 which figure now also saves us: immersion – not a putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward Elohim – through the resurrection of יהושע Messiah,
1 Pet. 3:22 who, having gone into heaven, is at the right hand of Elohim, messengers and authorities and powers having been subjected to Him.

There is the answer. Because Yeshua was faithful and triumphed over sin, and because Satan and his minions thought that by killing Yeshua they would destroy YHVH’s plan to redeem not only Israel but the other nations that YHVH had given to the angels to rule, that through Yeshua’s resurrection all the angels (messengers), authorities and powers are now subject to Yeshua. Psalms 2:7 “I inscribe for a law: יהוה has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have brought You forth.
Psalms 2:8 ‘Ask of Me, and I make the gentiles[1] Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth Your possession.
Psalms 2:9 ‘Break them with a rod of iron, Dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’ ”
Rev 2:27 and he shall shepherd them with a rod of iron, as the potter’s vessels shall be broken to pieces, as I also have received from My Father.
Rev 12:5 And she bore a male child who was to shepherd all nations with a rod of iron. And her child was caught away to Elohim and to His throne.
Rev 19:15 And out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations. And He shall shepherd them with a rod of iron. And He treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of El Shaddai.

[1] Author’s note: the word used here in Hebrew is goy, the plural is goyim and it means nations, pagans or heathens.

So Yeshua took back the authority to rule over all the nations, not just Israel. But who is He looking for in all of those nations?
Matthew 15:24 And He answering, said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Yisra’ĕl.”

Yeshua conquered death and now possesses the authority over the heavens and the Earth. SO what is next? The Stargates.

Num 6:22 And יהוה spoke to Mosheh, saying,
Num 6:23 “Speak to Aharon and his sons, saying, ‘This is how you bless the children of Yisra’ĕl. Say to them:
Num 6:24 “יהוה bless you and guard you;
Num 6:25 יהוה make His face shine upon you, and show favour to you;
Num 6:26 יהוה lift up His face upon you, and give you peace.”
Num 6:27 “Thus they shall put My Name on the children of Yisra’ĕl, and I Myself shall bless them.”

  1. Cyrus,
You are truly appreciated and your work have been missed through the past couple seasons. I see ya checkin in occasionally over at Greg Hunter’s WDUSA. These are extraordinary times we are now in and I wanted to take a minute to say hi and encourage you to persevere. You are serving up meat here for those who can digest it.
I guess I’m a long time lurker checkin in while there is still time. May God Yahweh continue to bless you, your family and your efforts. Sincerely, am

    • Shalom Andy,
Thank you very much for coming by. I like Greg Hunter and he is probably one of the few that will put of with my comments. I am hoping to show people, especially new believers, that the scriptures provides us with more answers that what today’s theology teaches so when they are in doubt they can turn to the scripture and find “real” answers for “real” problems. Modern theology has diluted the intensity of YHVH’s Word.
      THanks again.
